The Science of the Soil

The most expensive concrete in the world will fail if it’s poured on poor soil. We treat site prep as a science, not just “moving dirt.”

The Problem:

If the dirt work is wrong, the concrete will fail.

Our Solution:

We handle the critical prep work that most contractors rush through.

  • Select Fill & Compaction: Ensuring the soil underneath your slab is stable and non-expansive.

  • Laser Grading: Precise elevation control to prevent drainage issues.

  • Debris Removal: We leave every site clean and ready for the next phase of construction.

Our Site Prep Standards:

  • Organic Removal: We remove all “root zone” material that decomposes and creates voids under your slab.

  • Select Fill & Compaction: We bring in non-expansive fill and compact it in “lifts” to ensure a rock-solid base that won’t shift.

  • Laser Grading: We grade to within fractions of an inch to ensure concrete yields are accurate and drainage is perfect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need 'Select Fill'?
The native soil in North Texas is too expansive. Select fill (usually a sandy-clay mix) provides a stable “cushion” that doesn’t expand and contract as much with the rain.
Yes, we provide full site-clearing, rough grading, and final pad preparation.
